Draw inspiration from the works of the Jesuit Qing court painters who introduced one-point perspective and western aesthetic to Chinese artists while adapting the traditional Chinese style and subjects in their works to suit the taste of emperors. The flat silhouette figure is placed on a patterned rug that suggests a spatial depth. The work reframes that cultural acclimation with the specific cultural flux of Hong Kong.
